HISTORY

Delta Zeta was founded on October 24, 1902 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. With the help of the university's president, Dr. Guy Potter Benton, six strong women came together to form the "Mother of Fraternities" on the male-dominated campus. These women were Alfa Lloyd, Mary Collins, Anna Keen, Julia Bishop, Mabelle Minton and Anne Simmons.

Today, there are 160 collegiate chapters in the United States and Canada along with over 200 alumnae chapters. Delta Zeta has proudly initiated over 220,000 members and is the second largest sorority in the US and the largest internationally.
